Tilting the Lens

Website Design

A truly accessible, designed–developed custom WordPress website best fitted for Tilting the Lens, a Disability-led organization, and DOBE™ certified Disability Owned and Operated Business Enterprise.

Ireland-based accessibility consultancy Tilting The Lens helps companies take action toward incorporating accessible practices across every area of their business.

Design Goals

The project aims to establish a strong online presence for the consultancy, focusing on:

  • Attracting clients by showcasing work and building trust.
  • Building a community with free resources.
  • Promoting digital accessibility best practices.

Design Considerations

The aesthetic survey highlighted client preferences. While brand imagery is limited, professional CEO photos and stock challenges can be addressed using graphs, drawings, icons, and brand guideline elements for visual appeal.

Stylescapes

Stylescapes are collections of colors, textures, images, typography curated in order to communicate a look and feel. The purpose of this exercise is to set a compass direction of the journey we are going to take together: North, South, East, West. The goal is to set a collective consensus on the direction so that we all stay on the same path as we journey forward.

Homepage

The homepage of Tilting The Lens employs minimalist design principles to create a clean, engaging layout. The ample whitespace draws attention to bold typography and concise messaging, establishing a strong visual hierarchy. The muted color palette is sophisticated and understated, aligning with the brand’s professional tone. High-contrast elements ensure readability and intuitive navigation encourages exploration. Imagery and graphics are alluring, and provocative reinforcing the brand’s focus on accessibility and inclusivity. Overall, the design reflects clarity, functionality, and a commitment to meaningful engagement.
